D U M P E D
This Mum and her 4 new born kittens where left in a suitcase in an entry in Bootle. They were only found when a local resident noticed the suitcase and had a look inside.
As soon as we heard of their plight, we arranged for them to come into our Sanctuary.

Blossom and her babies.
UNWANTED AND ABANDONED KITTENS
There has been a huge increase in the number of unwanted kittens and cats needing our help. In the last 4 weeks we have had many kittens dumped at our Sanctuary or brought to after being found in boxes.
We have had many calls asking for our help with new born kittens and their mums. Many of these have owners who sadly have let their unneutered females out and were surprised to find them pregnant. We are working our way through the list, supporting owners with food and supplies and we will take the kittens in when old enough and arrange for mothers and fathers to be neutered.
UN-NEUTERED MALE & FEMALE CATS - If you are or know of an owner that needs to have their cat neutered or are struggling to cope - please pass on our number and we will do our very best to help them.

PLAYFUL SKITTLE AND LOLA
Sisters Skittle (B/W) and Lola (DLH Black) came to us with their brother and sister. They were found in a garden (no sign of mum) and thankfully rescued by Glenda, who took them into her home and cared for them. Being a bit frightened and not used to humans, Glenda spent all the time she could to handle them. At 5 months old they were ready to come into the Sanctuary for rehoming. Buzz the brother was the first to find a home with another one of our cats, Charlie, then only recently, Angel went to a lovely home.
This just leaves Skittle and Lola. Skittle is daft and loves to be stroked, but little Lola is a bit more wary, but friendly.
We would love them to go to a home together or they can go seperately and but we know they would love other cats to play with.
They are about 10 months old now and we would love them to find a home very soon.

ADORABLE WENDY
Wendy is a very sweet, little cat. She is a bit shy at first, but is friendly. She loves to play and is good with other cats.
The photo on the left with her pink collar was taken when she arrived at just over 5mths old and the other is recent and shows what a beautiful cat she still is.

ALI AND LESLIE
Ali and Leslie didn't come in together. Over the past 8 months they have grown very fond of each other and are inseperable. Ali can be seen as a bit shy at first, but he if friendly and enjoys a stroke. Leslie has been to 2 homes and returned because she didn't settle in. Not liking other cats on arrival back at the Sanctuary, Leslie was put in a pen of her own next to Ali and Jonah. This seemed to cure her ' not liking other cats' problem. So not long after, she was keen to get into their pen so she could us the outside run. So we moved her in and we've never looked back since. She is a lot more calmed and relaxed.
We are pleased that she is happy but we would love her to be homed very soon. Ali and Leslie would prefer a home together, where they can venture outside to explore.

PHOEBE
Phoebe came to us recently after her owners abandoned her. Kind neighbours fed her and made sure that she was safe until someone could help.
She is a very friendly cat, who is quite vocal. Phoebe is living with other cats in her pen, but I think she prefers a home on her own.

LUCY
Lucy came to us with her kittens last year. All were a bit timid, but soon settled in. All her kittens have been rehomed, and it's just mum that needs a home now.
Lucy is looking for a quiet home without young children.

CANDY AND TIMMY
Mum and son are looking for a home together after their owner sadly died. They are very friendly and are looking for a quiet home without young children.
.
JANIE
An adorable cat. She was a stray with no one to care for her. Janie is very friendly and loves attention.

STAN & OLLIE
This pair were dumped in shopping baskets on Thursday morning(10/6/2010) outside the Sanctuary.
Update - Stan and Ollie have now been neutered and have settled in fine. They are very friendly and get on well with other cats. We feel that a quiet, gentle home without young children would be suitable.

LIAM & SPARKEY
The boys have been returned to us after they didn't get along with the owners dog. So they are still in need of a home. They sometimes don't get on, so a seperate home would be considered.
FELIX
Friendly Felix is looking for a home with or without other cats. He is currently living with Wendy and 2 other females. He loves to be stroked and cuddled.
SPECIAL HOME NEEDED FOR MOLLY

Molly is a sweet cat. She came to us after her owner went into respite care. We agreed to take in the mum cats and their kittens. But what we were faced with was 2 very underweight adult cats and 7 one week old kittens and an older kitten. Smokey, the other Mum is still with her litter, but was in a dreadful state. She was a 'bag of bones' and had very little teeth. Molly not long after going to a foster home rejected her kittens and so was seperated. Her litter are being cared for by Carol and Smokey and her little bandits are being cared for by Jane.
We had Molly tested and she is FIV positive. So we are in need of a gentle, indoor home with no other cats.
If you are able to offer Molly a home, please get in touch.
-------- The FIV virus reduces a cat's immune system, slowly (over several years) this can leave it more vulnerable to other feline infections, FIV CANNOT be transmitted to humans
that is all - in itself FIV is not life threatening.
Cats still with owners seeking new homes
If you have a cat you can no longer keep and would like us to help, then please call the Sanctuary with your details. Please send us photos so we can feature them here.

SCHUMIE - 11yr old Female

OSCAR - 9yr old Male
Schumie and Oscar are in need of a home together. They are looking for a quiet, gentle home. Both are very friendly and have lived with a dog before.
Their owner sadly isn't able to care for them and we are hoping to find them a home very soon.
If you are interested in adopting or fostering this lovely couple, please call Caroline at the Sanctuary on 0151 549 0959.
