Situated in 7 acres of secure, floodlit training grounds the centre was extended and extensively modernised in 2002, with a new indoor training area.

Owned & run by Jean and Guy Richardson and their son Craig, the centre offers first class canine training and instruction in a relaxed friendly atmosphere and provides a comprehensive range of puppy training and adult dog training courses. All dog training instructors working at the centre are personally trained and supervised by Guy.

The Oldies Club is a dog rescue, run solely by volunteers, that specialises in rescuing and rehoming older dogs – aged 7 years plus.

We first came into existence in the Spring of 2005, and in March 2007 the Oldies Club proudly became Registered Charity number 1118246.

We do not have kennels or a central base as, rather than placing our dogs in kennels, we prefer to care for them in a normal home environment. We therefore use foster homes.

Our foster homes are spread around the country and each of them has been carefully checked. Before we place a dog in a foster home, we try, as far as possible, to ensure that we know the likes, dislikes and needs of the dog to ensure the foster home is one it will be happy in.

CHARITABLE TRUSTS

The Jean Sainsbury Animal Welfare Trust was set up in 1982, by Mrs Jean Beryl Lilian Sainsbury, and is a registered charity (No. 326358). Since then, the Trust has given over £5m to animal welfare charities.

The Trust has six trustees including two solicitors, one of whom specialises in charity affairs, and two practicing veterinary surgeons. Most have been in office for at least twelve years and share a concern for, and commitment to, animal welfare.

The objectives of the Trust are to donate to UK registered charities whose purposes encompass one or more of the following:

  • to benefit or protect animals
  • to relieve animals from suffering
  • to conserve wild life
  • to encourage the understanding of animals

It’s a sad fact that thousands of pets end up homeless in the UK every year, through no fault
of their own. Support Adoption For Pets provides financial support to the many rescue centres which do a tremendous job of finding new homes for these deserving pets.

Thanks to their efforts, hundreds of animals are given a second chance of happiness every day.

HELPING WILDLIFE

The British Hedgehog Preservation Society (BHPS) is a registered UK Charity (number 326885) dedicated to helping & protecting  hedgehogs native to the UK (Erinaceus europaeus).

We run a helpline with advice on caring & encouraging hedgehogs in the wild and in your garden.

The aims of the British Hedgehog Preservation Society are:

  • To encourage and give advice to the public concerning the care of hedgehogs particularly when injured, sick, treated cruelly, orphaned or in any other danger.

  • To encourage children to respect our natural wildlife - by supplying information and giving lectures and thus fostering an interest in hedgehogs.

  • To fund research into behavioural habits of hedgehogs and to ascertain the best methods of assisting their survival.

VEGETARIANS INTERNATIONAL VOICE FOR ANIMALS

Eating meat; fish and dairy causes environmental destruction, damages human health, contributes to global hunger and inflicts immense suffering on billions of animals across the world.

Viva! believes that the solution to all these problems is in our own hands: the best way to stop the destruction and the cruelty is to stop eating animals now – go vegetarian, or better still, vegan.

Through popular campaigns, solid research, undercover exposés and effective media skills we have brought the reality of modern farming into people's living rooms. We have enlightened millions, shocked most and changed the diets of many. You can help with these successes.

HELP ANIMAL AID STOP THE CRUELTY

Animal Aid is at the forefront of the fight against all animal cruelty, investigating and exposing the hidden suffering in the UK, using all peaceful means possible. You can help us to continue vital campaigning work against all animal suffering with every purchase.

We work hard to establish that everything we sell has the strictest possible production criteria. Where possible we source our products from ethical companies, who make the least impact on the environment. Many items are fair-trade, organic or GMO-free. And it goes without saying that no product has been tested on animals, or contains any animal ingredients, so all items are suitable for vegetarians and vegans. Many are approved by BUAV and are registered with the Vegan Society.

For over 100 years the BUAV has been campaigning peacefully to create a world where nobody wants or believes we need to experiment on animals.

Through undercover investigations, political lobbying, the promotion of cruelty free products, legal and scientific expertise and media activities the BUAV works tirelessly to make the world a better place for animals.

We work lawfully and professionally, building relationships with MPs, MEPs, business leaders and other decision-makers. We also analyse legislation and sit on decision-making panels around the globe, to act as the voice for laboratory animals. We are determined in our fight to achieve positive lasting change in legislation to make a long-term difference for animals.
